The neverending frustration of indie games

well I love indie games, that is no secret. And I want to play more of them, as the game I made this banner for, This is btw available both on steam and itch for free, but only exist in a demo form - and I honestly don't think the dev will ever finish it. I think Survey Horror might have outlived itself, no matter how much I love it, it's just not a trend anymore.

But I DO want to play more of them, thing is just I simply have to give up on most of them, I mean there is for instance this demo, the silkbulb test, it crashes the same place on my computer no matter wht the fuck I do, and i tried installing it via itch and steam - no dice. And there is a limit as to how much time I am willing to spend on it. This is a side hobby, I mean it's purely and 100% just for my own enjoyment and fun.

And then there are games that doesn't work, and games that are down right wrong - I remember playing a game, I forgot the name of it, but it turned out we were being radicalized as a neo nazi, and dude I actually enjoyed the game, it was thought provoking and well crafted as a part of a very important political debate (at least here in Scandinavia and northern Europe - the game was German if i remember right), but I simply had to delete my footage because I know that even if I think it's a clever take on 'radicalisation' and how it happens everywhere and to people you'd never think, I also know that youtube and most those who does watch what I make, would not appreciate it. I mean I don't do heavy games on my channel very often, it's mostly just lame stuff because it's escapism for me, and I just happen to enjoy sharing it. And I am mindblown on the daily that anyone actually watch it.

So - I mean look at my 'thanks i hate it' folder on ITCH, it's not nessesarily because I hated the games, but sometimes they are there because I can't play them, game breaking bugs, or overly complicated gameplay that does not belong in the game or something. Thanks, I hate it. - Samling af NördHrafn - itch.io

I do play loads of indie games that never makes it to the channel, because of either the reasons listed above, too controvertial, broken, or just ridicolous. And HOGs are just my go to. I have hundreds (i shit you not) games that are not HOG games that I need to play on my steam account in my 'to be played' folder, both demos, free games and cheap (and sometimes pretty expensive) games. but my computer really hates me, and i have been talking of getting a new one for well over two years now. I really ought to do something about it, so I can play some of the larger games.

Anyway. I just wanted to say that I am not ignoring the poll I made, which tells me that 1 person wanted more indie games, and 1 person wanted to keep it as it is, a mix. (thanks for voting btw). Back when I started this, I had a list of games 'to play' so people could see what was coming up, but too many of the games ended up being duds, or I just didn't feel like playing them anyways. Which is why I stopped doing that - I have been thinking of bringing it back tho in a different form that is.
