When proof of concept, proves nothing at all.

Now this is an issue I have seen many times over the years, and don't ask me why I have such rotten luck with games these days.

However this game demo, doesn't even qualify as a demo, even less proof of concept. I really wish people would not upload showerthoughts, or super unfinished projects.

My main gripe was really the listing art as you see below, that looks awesome as fuck, am I right?

However when you click on the game, the banner art makes me think of a commercial for feminine hygiene products, seriously it does.

This doesn't mean anything on it's own, I mean sure those two things could in theory work together, if we're talking like cosmic horror or something. And mind you I found this game under:

dark/psychological horror/visual novel/rich story

Then I read the blurb.

I can tell the devs are from Russia, and so I do think it's a question of poor translation. But no matter what, it tells us absolutely nothing at all, besides curiosity can be destructive, and doors seductive.

Nah I do get the gist, I mean Alice is looking in places she shouldn't be, for things she shouldn't be looking for.  But still.

And then there's this concept art, I mean... this read like a 'mystical, slightly paranormal, romantic visual novel' by now. And not exactly what I thought it would be, based on the search tags, and the listing art with the creepy snout creature.

Like all other 'topic' videos I did. Only AI is the sprite & the tts voice

If you feel like seeing the recording I made of the disaster that is the demo, you gotta live with the TTS, or perhaps just kill the sound, and read the subs. The demo gameplay starts at 05:38

I can tell you that it's 8 minutes of pretty, atmospheric, but absolutely empty gameplay. At no point do we learn what this game actually is, I mean is it a paranormal romance thing, or is it in fact psychological horror?

From where I stand, it looks like this was a well meant project, one some people worked on with passion, and the intention of telling a lovecraftian story of some sort.

But sadly, like with so many other games, it's kind of safe to assume this won't be finished. I hope it does, and I hope it's everything I wish it would be. Because those 8 minutes are very well crafted, not going to lie.

But it is an issue, these old unfinished things clutter up the tags - it doesn't matter how well meant it was. And I wish people would not start out thinking they'll create their magnum opus. Start small dammit, find out what it means to publish. And THEN work on big things.

I did make some desktops from the banner art, you can find them right here.
