Right, so some changes are about to happen... one of them is Miss Darkstar moving to her new home. In other words, this means all AI based resources, and all text to speech videos are removed from this blog.
As I said in this entry below (click image for the entry)
I am not against the use of generative AI, but nor am I for contentfarms, or direct slob... be that ai or not, - I mean I think reaction channels is the dumbest shit ever. But this is not about what I like to watch, this is about me having two youtube channels, - specifically to seperate things.
I am all for generative AI as a tool, this is a tool that lets me create narrated videos, which is something I used to do a lot, but let's just say... I know I am not young and pretty, and my pronunciation of English sounds wonky, because it's not my first language. I can get away with it to some extent in the written word, but not if you hear me speak.
What I AM working on, is making a model of my own voice for TTS, one I can pretty up a little, so it doesn't sound as atrocious as it is.
Dude, I'm like Kim Bodnia in the Witcher, where they dub over me, because my English is too cringe.
But in all honesty there are three main reasons as to why I prefer text to speech for my narrated videos.
1. I write a script, if it sounds weird, or stuff change. I can edit the text and try again, I don't have to record everything all over.
2. I live in a small apartment with 3 out of my 4 adult children, at no point is there silent enough for me to record anything.
3. I feel less vulnerable behind a sprite, and I am very uncomfortable with the thought of making vlogs again.
And that is it really, I mean I don't have a mic, and I don't have a camera. But I could definitely purchase that if I wished to, - but I really don't.
It bothers me we are still dealing with a mindset like this stellar individual below.
My narration videos, even if made with a sprite and text to speech. They are every bit me, I wrote that script, and I investigated and collected the screenshots, or solved the puzzles. Now I don't give a shit about if people don't like text to speech, because they can just NOT click my video.
So when I remove it from here, it's not because I hide away, - or changed my mind. It is because I decided to collect it in a spot, where it doesn't bother anyone. Because believe me, the last thing I want is to bother you with it.
thing is I enjoy making those videos, and much like with anything else I create, - I sometimes keep it in my "drawer", and sometimes I show it off. But the common nominator is that I create it for me. I know how arrogant that sounds, it's really not. It's the fact that I know, and also don't care, about 'making it', neither as a youtuber, or an author. This means when I do it anyway, and keep doing it... it is because I love doing it.
With that said, it's not like I don't CARE at all, it's more like. I appreciate every singular follow, like and comment, on any of my creative outlets, because I know if people take their time to do that. It's because they like what I do... And I don't want to cater to trends, I want to cater to you, and me of course... ahhahaha but you know what I mean, I care about those who show interest, and those who do not, well they don't, and I don't spend my time thinking about it.
I still think it's wild that I have more than 2 followers that I am not directly blood-related to, following any of my creative pages, - and I don't think I can actually express how amazing I think that is! I have no need for fame, I am super content with hiding in a corner, doing things I love, - sharing it to others who happen to like the same as me.
I love sharing resources for others to use, and I am in general a very 'giving' person in that aspect. I want to help people get better at creating whatever they create if I can. And that is why I upload all that crap to this blog.
But...
All that aside, it's no secret I have two youtube channels. And I am going to move the text to speech stuff, and the AI resources there. I won't link from the header, but you can get a link here, which would be the only place and time I will do so. (click image for the blog)
Instead of seeing an embedded TTS video, you will see this graphic.
And as it says, if you click the image, you will be taken to the TTS video link list. All videos are represented with a little thumbnail so you can easily find the right one.
So the AI Content tab, now has this graphic
And as you can probably figure out, it's the "new" site for the TTS video list.
